Creating a Deal

There are three places in Campus where you can create a Deal. Either directly in the Deals module, from your Contact view page, or from your Organisation view page.

This article walks you through the process and also gives you an explanation of the information you need to provide Campus with when you are creating a new Deal.

Creating a Deal in your Deals Module

1. In your Campus account navigate to Sales > Deals.

2. Click the  Create a Deal button.

3. The Create a Deal window will now slide in on from the right-hand side. 

4. Now fill out the Create a Deal form.

Creating a Deal in your Contacts View Page

1. In your Campus account navigate to the Contact you wish to view:  Contacts > and then click on the relevant Contact in the data grid.

2. Under the Interactions > Deals section Click the Add button.

3. The Create a Deal window will now slide in on from the right-hand side. 

4. Now fill out the Create a Deal form.

Creating a Deal in your Organisations View Page

1. In your Campus account navigate to the Organisation you wish to view. Organisations > click on the relevant Organisation in the data grid.

2. Under the Interactions > Deals section Click the Add button.

3. The Create a Deal window will now slide in on from the right-hand side.

4. Now fill out the Create a Deal form.

Create a Deal Form Fields

Wherever you decide to create your Deal you'll need to fill in the following fields in the Create a Deal form.

Name

Give you Deal a name that makes it easy to recognise. E.g. New School Website.

Value

Add the monetary value of the Deal. This will allow you to look at the value of your Deal Pipeline Stages later.

Relates To

Select the radio button that applies. You'd usually want to 'relate' a Deal to a Contact or an Organisation. When you select the Contact or Organisation radio buttons a dropdown selector will appear where you can then select the relevant entity.

You can if you want to, not relate a Deal to any entity at all, although this would be quite rare.

Type

Now select the Type of Deal it is. Campus comes with some pre-existing Types:

  • New Business
  • Repeat Business

Pipeline

Now choose the Pipeline you want your Deal to work through. Campus comes with a pre-existing Pipeline called 'Sales Pipeline'. You can add further Pipelines if you need to. Have a look at this article to learn how to do that.

Owned By

This is the person who owns and is responsible for working the Deal. You can select any of your team mates from this dropdown or click on the Assign to Me link to make you the owner.

Close Date

This is the date by which you expect the Deal to be closed by (either won or lost). Campus will automatically add a date based on the Deal's Pipeline length. More about that in this article. Of course you can edit the Close Date here if you want to.

Description

Finally add some information about the Deal.

Now you can click Save, to save your Deal, or Save & Add Another if you want to go ahead and create another Deal straight away.

You'll now see your Deal appear in the Deals grid or board.
